Unfortunately, Google AdSense is currently the leader in content-related web-based marketing because of the large number of advertisers that promote via Google’s AdWords service. Fortunately, there are several alternatives available for you to employ if your account has been suspended or your website does not comply with their extremely strict terms and conditions. I won’t waste your time or mine by giving you a huge list of possible AdSense alternatives — instead, I have compiled a list of the top 5 alternatives to Google AdSense that offer the most comparable CPM and CPC rates to the big G. I personally recommend trying out multiple alternatives to see which ones work for your website best. Check out the list below:

AdBrite

Chitika

InfoLinks

BidVertiser

Clicksor

AdBrite

AdBrite is currently one of the best AdSense alternatives available. Although AdBrite does not offer the same large database of advertisers as AdSense — they do offer you the capability to monetize all the traffic to your website, not just ad clicks. Additionally, AdBrite gives you the option to select which ads you would like to display on your website — you can reject or allow ads not relevant to your site via their control panel. Ad revenue is typically split 75/25 in your favor.

Features:

Banner/Text Ads

Full Page Ads — these ads display prior to your website displaying and are monetized using CPM. CPM rates for these ads range from $5 to $10+.

Inline Text Ads — will highlight keywords in your text and pay you CPC rates. CPC rates for these ads range from $5 to $10+.

Chitika

Chitika just recently progressed into a full fledged advertising company from a previous leader in impulse merchandising. Chitika works in a similar way to AdSense, offering user search based web-marketing solutions to publishers — making your ads more appealing and relevant to user search strings and therefore increasing chances of clicks.

Features:

List Unit — The Chitika List Unit (CLU) is a new powerful extension of the MPU which automatically adjusts its height, ensuring no ugly white-space and thus a cleaner user experience. You can also display more ads in a CLU — the more ads you display in one unit the more chances of getting clicks.

Mobile Code — Adverts designed specifically to be shown on mobile devices.

InfoLinks

InfoLinks is a relatively newcomer to the advertisement scene. They claim to be the industry leaders with the most relevant in-text advertisements (a feature also offered by AdBrite). InfoLinks advertisements are extremely unobtrusive and they highlight keywords in such a way that individuals think the linked words are part of your website — and when they click them, you get paid. They also vouch to pay the highest revenue shares in the industry — and from my personal experience, I can definitely say they do.

Features:

Related Tags — a new feature by InfoLinks that adds a related tags bar to your website. It collects the best keywords based on their algorithms and displays them in a cloud method to be clicked by users.

BidVertiser

BidVertiser is an excellent alternative to Google and offers some intriguing ad formats. They also pay based on CPC and give you the option to free design your ad style — which is not necessarily acceptable by all advertisers. I’ve only used BidVertiser for a short term — but didn’t get any clicks so switched over to AdBrite, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t work for you. Take my advice from above, try out all the services in a one week trial and see which one works best for your website.

Features:

Conversion Bonus — unlike many other advertising companies, BidVertiser also acts as an affiliate marketer and will pay you conversion bonuses based on how many clicks actually convert into leads.

Revenue Generating Toolbar — customize your own toolbar through BidVertiser and get paid every time users use the toolbar to initiate a search.

Clicksor

Clicksor is currently the leader in web-based marketing for small publishers. The revenue share of Clicksor is a market leading 85% for most advertisments and they offer true context-based advertisements comparable to AdSense. They offer payouts through PayPal and do not require a SSN or Tax ID to operate — so you can save on any taxes you may have to pay.

Features:

Text Links

Image Ads

Flash Ads

Animation Ads

Banners

Pop unders (Popups)

Interstitial Ads — ads that display before the desired content paid based on CPM.

There you go, the top 5 alternatives (personally) to Google AdSense. If you search online, you will see that a lot of will corroborate with what I have said here. Like I said previously, you may want to try out all the ad networks on a trial basis to see which one works best for you — although I’ve had the best results with AdBrite, it may not be optimal for your website.

If you’ve read the article titled: Making Money Online: Tweeting On Twitter With SponsoredTweets, you’ll probably be wondering how you can boost your earnings because you’re just not happy with $10-20 a month — even though it only takes a minute or two a day. Well, fortunately you’re in luck… there are a few ways you can boost your earnings on SponsoredTweets.

1. Become more active on Twitter and participate in CPC opportunities

SponsoredTweets also offers CPC opportunities (although extremely low amounts), but if you’re really into networking on Twitter, your income is potentially unlimited. Firstly, read How To Get More Twitter Followers if you haven’t already. The problem with Twitter is that no one will actually read anything you tweet because people are usually tweeting useless crap that no one wants to read.

So, how do you get people to click on your CPC opportunities so you increase your earnings? Well, you need to be active on Twitter and communicate with other people so they eventually read your tweets and click on offers that interest them. Get on Twitter, and start mentioning people you are following in your posts, find the ones that respond and maintain conversation with them. Eventually, they will actually started reading your tweets and therefore click on your CPC opportunities, thus raising your revenue. Remember, the more followers you have, the more you get to charge per tweet.

2. Go Pro and get increased benefits

Surprise surprise, SponsoredTweets also offers a PRO program that according to them:

Upgrade to a pro account to receive your pro badge, priority sorting for advertisers, and a lower cash-out threshold.

Well, personally I’ve never tried out the PRO function over at SponsoredTweets but luckily for you, they are offering a 30 day free trial so you can test out how the program works and whether its actually function and useful.

If you end up trying out the PRO function or have already tried it, please share your experience in the comments below — I would love to know how it functions and whether it’s worth it or not.

3. Refer people and earn extra money with their referral program

You can boost your earnings even more by referring your friends and family to SponsoredTweets and earn commission per person you refer. If you own a website, you can also place your referral link on there with the badges you see in the picture below and earn even more money.

4. Make multiple Twitter accounts, get followers and tweet

This is another way you can quickly boost your earnings on SponsoredTweets. There is no limit to the number of Twitter accounts you can have therefore there’s no limit to the amount of accounts you can use with SponsoredTweets. It’s simple, make multiple Twitter accounts (associated with different email addresses of course), get as many followers as possible and use the “Sign in with Twitter” function on SponsoredTweets with each of your individual Twitter accounts. Now it’s just a waiting game — wait for them to send you offers in your multiple email addresses and respond to them accordingly.

That’s it ladies and gentlemen — follow the steps above and you should see a serious boost in your revenues in no time at all. Of course SponsoredTweets is not a replacement for your daily job, but it can earn you a little money on the side. Stay tuned to more articles in Future Pocket’s Wallet to earn money online and make a living from home.

In my previous post I mentioned there were several ways of making money online – including ad revenues, completing surveys, affiliate programs, self-sustaining businesses, pyramid schemes, and those crazy websites you see giving away prizes for referrals. Well this article will tell you how to make money online from ad revenues.

<img style="float:right" src="http://thenextweb.com/google/files/2010/05/make-money-online.jpg" title="Easy Money"

What is ad revenue? Well, it’s simple actually, it’s when companies pay you money for advertising their company on your website. If you are the owner of a website, especially one with a large audience, there are numerous ways in which you can earn an income from advertising. The best part is is that it’s so easy. Most people think that you need to actually sign up companies or accounts on an individual basis. This is not so. All you need to do is register through third party ad servers or brokers to begin serving ads on your website.

First, lets talk about how to set up a website – firstly, you will need to get web hosting and register a domain name (if you want to have a reputable website), but there are also free hosts out there that will give you a sub-domain under their main domain. Future Pocket is currently hosted with WireNine and I have no complaints as of yet, they offer excellent support and their service is always blazing fast! WireNine also offers a FREE website builder, with which you can build your own website in minutes if you are not experienced in HTML/PHP! There are multiple other reliable web hosts out there, so check out which one you prefer!

Once your website is up, second step is to get traffic – and I’ll leave that up to you. Promote your website online, to your friends, classmates, peers… or just anyone you see, go about it however you want – but make sure your website is unique in a sense that the information presented is actually interesting to the general public! Once you start getting some traffic on your website, it’s time to start posting up ads!

Here are my three favorite advertisement serving companies that you can choose from to make additional income from your website:

1.	Fastclick: Fast click serves banner ads in a variety of different sizes. You choose the sizes you want and then just paste the code onto your website to begin showing the ads. Fastclick works on a cost per 1000 impressions (CPM) basis. That is, you get paid based on every time the ads are shown 1000 times on your website. You get paid whether or not anybody actually clicks on them! You get 65% of the revenue and Fastclick keeps 35%. The banner ads shown are very appealing with some well known companies that use it to advertise, including MSN, Ask Jeeves, and Vonage. To the average layman visiting your site, it would look as though some great companies have personally chosen to advertise on your site bringing it some added credibility. You can also block any inappropriate banner ads from showing on your site.

2.	Commission Junction: An affiliate marketing provider. With Commission Junction, you choose which affiliates’ ads to show on your site and then post their banners. This doesn’t pay based on the number of impressions or the number of clicks, but rather someone would have to click on the banner, be taken to the affiliate website, and then either sign up or buy something from that website before you would be paid a commission. Obviously, the actual number of completed transactions are low but the commission on the completed sales are higher than other advertising methods. Commissions run anywhere from $1 to over $100 per completed sale or sales lead. Various affiliates that you can choose from include eBay, Yahoo, IceJerseys.com, and Starbucks.

3.	Google AdSense: This PPC (pay-per-click) advertising is probably the most popular and widely used of all internet advertising web publishers, probably because it is the most nondescript and doesn’t involve any animated banners that draw attention away from your website. You serve the Google text ads on your site and you get paid any time someone clicks on one of the ads. Mainly, you get anywhere between 1 cent and 50 cents per click. This doesn’t sound like much but if you have a website with heavy traffic it could be thousands of dollars a month. Read about Google AdSense success stories here!

That’s about it guys, its really not that hard! The hardest part is getting started with a website and getting traffic, but once you’ve done that, ad revenue should be a breeze! So get started, and good luck! Eventually, you can just sit back, relax and watch the money roll in!
